Dia de los muertos

On October 29th, 2022, Austin’s Mexic-Arte Museum put on Viva la Vida, the 39th annual Dia de los Muertos festival on Congress downtown. Beautiful works of art from the museum were on display throughout the festival, as well as street vendors, an ofrenda, and live music and dancing. The Tejano and Freestyle Showcase, presented by Austin Lowriding and Latin Freestyle Records, featured local artists such as Principe Q, Cholo Cumbia, Liz Garcia, South Train, and Ginger Rodriguez.

Ginger Rodgriguez is a local Austinite, producing her own music since age 13. A Latinx alt-pop artist with a self prescribed “pop star persona”, Ginger continues to put her heart and soul into pursuing her musical dreams. Her passion for life, her culture, and family is apparent in all her music. At only 17, Ginger released her first album, “I’m Crying in a Cool Way”, and then at 19, released “Melancholy”. Currently 21 years old, Ginger is working on her third album, “Pop Cult” and can be seen at local venues around Austin.
